GDC Welcomes Jess Guerra

Jess Guerra is a second generation GDCer. The daughter of Frank Guerra, GDC co-founder, Jess has grown up in the marketing industry. With a natural talent for design and commendable work ethic, Jess elevates every project she takes on.

Jess graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural leadership and development with concentrations in business and horticulture. After graduation, she took a job as a legislative correspondent for Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX) in Washington D.C. and later, at his office in San Antonio as a district representative.

After three years with Congressman Hurd, Jess put her agricultural degree to work on farms in New Mexico and Costa Rica. Upon moving back to San Antonio, she took a job as a grant writer and development manager at Yes! Our Kids Can, an educational tech nonprofit. While there, the designers, game developers and illustrators she worked with introduced her to the world of graphic design and art direction in the tech field.

Later, Jessica did contract work that included writing, communications, and relationship building with The Nuff children’s book and Grow Ensemble. She soon joined the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco as their grant writer and development manager, helping them to accomplish their mission of serving the young.

In early 2022, Jess started at GDC as a creative intern and was soon offered a full-time position as a junior art director. She has created storyboards, ad spreads, social graphics, banners, and more for clients including Don’t mess with Texas®, the Texas Secretary of State’s Voter Education Campaign, Project MEND and others.

When Jess isn’t busy creating beautiful designs for our clients, she dedicates her time to work on her many art projects, hanging out with her family and friends, and dreaming of owning her own farm one day. She lives in San Antonio with her dog, Lola, and regal cat, Binx.
