GDC Welcomes Chantel Nasits

With 19 years in the television and film industry and 11 as a producer, Chantel Gallegos Nasits never found a job on a film or commercial set she couldn’t do. Her drive to ensure that the client and creative visions are respected on every project makes her an incredible asset to the GDC team.

Chantel stepped onto her first film set while studying marketing at the University of the Incarnate Word and interning at Connolly & Company. While creating a PSA for the Children’s Shelter of San Antonio, she discovered her love of film and television and earned her first ADDY Award. Chantel soon found that she would be able to work continually on commercial and film shoot as an onset photographer. In 2001 she switched her focus to photography and soon became a Certified Professional Photographer with the Professional Photographers of America. Wishing to become more involved in the filming process, she trained as a producer. She became accredited with the Association of Independent Commercial Producers.

Chantel has worked on indie and feature films, commercial sets, music videos, documentaries, and branded content projects. Her clients included organizations and individuals throughout the state of Texas. She has also worked in 13 US states and with clients from three different continents as well as major players in film and music including Robert Rodriguez, Spike Lee, and Willie Nelson.

Chantel started as a stills photographer and soon worked in most of the departments involved in film sets, including Art, Camera, Makeup, Production, Transportation, Wardrobe, and various roles in production. Chantel says that her “type A – creative brain is satisfied” through her work as a producer.  Her clients, including USAA, Christus Santa Rosa, Texas Department of Transportation, Ford, Snickers, Toyota, and many more, can attest to her hard work and professionalism. Chantel has worked on three Emmy award-winning television productions, won numerous Addy awards, and was given a Silver award from Parenting Publications of America.

When Chantel is not producing great content for GDC clients, she can often be found volunteering in the community. She has been a Meals on Wheels volunteer since 2009 and works with numerous charities helping children and LGBTQ youth. Chantel lives in San Antonio, Texas, with her partner, Zach, two children, and three rescue dogs.
